Small-Scale Fluids Laboratory

Welcome to our research group, where we specialize in exploring the physics of fluids at small scales. Our work encompasses both theoretical and experimental investigations into the behavior of fluids that can exist as droplets, bubbles, or thin films.

Physics of Small-Scale Fluids

We analyze and investigate the physics of small-scale fluids under diverse shapes and conditions. To understand the motion of fluids on a small scale, it is crucial to have a sophisticated understanding of their interfaces. Thus, we are also exploring fluid dynamics alongside the diverse physical, chemical, and biological principles that dictate the mechanics of these interfaces.  Through this approach, we aim to uncover the fundamental principles that allow us to control and manipulate the behavior of small-scale fluids.

Engineering and Biomedical Applications

Understanding the physics of fluids on a small scale is essential for developing production technologies across a wide range of electronic products, including batteries and semiconductors. This knowledge is also crucial in the technologies used in automobiles and household appliances. Moreover, it has significant applications in understanding the ecology of small animals, such as insects, and the physiology of plants. Since many organs in the human body manage small-scale liquids, comprehending the dynamics of these fluids can inspire innovative, nature-inspired engineering solutions and advancements in biomedical engineering technologies.
